How French Bulldog puppies grow
- The fastest growth is in the first 4–5 months. By 6 months many Frenchies are around three-quarters of their adult weight.
- The breed standard sets an upper limit of 28 lb. Many healthy Frenchies sit well below it.
- Because they are compact and heavy-boned, Frenchies can look bigger than their weight suggests.
Tips for healthy growth
- Frenchies gain weight easily, and extra weight makes breathing harder for flat-faced breeds. Keep them lean.
- Use a harness rather than a collar to protect the airway.
- Short, frequent play sessions suit them better than long walks, especially in warm weather.
